THE
NEW HAMPSHIRE SEACOAST RUN PEDAL PADDLE
The New
Hampshire Seacoast Run Pedal Paddle (NHSRPP) event was held
on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Great Island Common
in New Castle, New Hampshire. Thank you to all the
volunteers, the students and families from the
participating schools, as well as the sponsors of the
event, in helping to make the day a big success.
Thank
you also to Jacqui and Mike Bryan for founding this event
and for all the time and energy they have put into this
race over the years. Jacqui and Mike transferred the
direction of the NHSRPP this year to the
New Hampshire Healthy Schools
Coalition (NHHSC),
the New Hampshire affiliate of Action for Healthy
Kids. The
2008 Race Directors were Pat Yeaton, Physical Education
Specialist on the NHHSC board, and Tammi Martin,
Chairperson of the NHHSC.
The NHSRPP is a fund raiser. Exeter Hospital has
committed a total of $15,000 in matching funds as a
challenge for the participating schools. All the
participating schools had an active role in organizing
this year's event and the monies raised will be used by
the schools to improve the health and fitness levels of
school-aged children.
